Craig Holliman Rest in Peace
I just learned that Craig Holliman of Cinema recently passed away.
He made a classic album, not just of Minneapolis funk but of… modern soul music. Bam. Done. Simple.
A really, really nice man from the little I knew of him, too, and condolences (belated) to all who knew him.
If anyone knows where to find the video of Put You in My Pocket please let me know.

I’m curious as to what is your intent or what is your want to pursue information about Craig. Craig and I were couple while he was writing a lot of the lyrics that ended up on the original Cinema CD. We had wonderful memories of that time. I remember typing the labels for the cassette tapes that he sent into so many recording companies. He would wake up in the middle of the night an right down lyrics to songs on a tablet on pieces of paper on our mightstand, all of which that ended up on that first cassette tape. There are so many songs I first heard as only music with no words, the words coming later in then middle of the night. He was so gifted, so capable. As where all of those in the band. As the band Alpha they were in such demand when I first met him. Wonderful stories I have of an incredible, gifted musicuian.

Wow, was just looking for Craig online. Just recorded the Cinema album myself and thought I’d search around. Sorry to hear about him. Genius lost.
I think Kimberly Wright may still be recording, soulful house tracks, unless it’s another.

Wow is that really Jean from Flint. Craig was crazy about you. I remember the board hanging in the breeze way that you would leave the word of the day to each other.
I am a long time friend of Craigs…. he watched me grow up. I know where you can get a copy of Put you in my pocket if you really want it.
